Lukoil Has Cash to Spend for West Africa
Russian firm Lukoil is set to invest about $780 million on its assets in two West African countries. According to a report from Ghana Business News the company plans to invest the funds in its oil exploration activities in Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana.
The news outlet cited the Business Insider as its source of information, however no one within the company has confirmed that figure.
According to the report Lukoil expects to find more oil in Africa than in Russia and started off 2010 on the right track. In February the company made a “significant discovery’ of gas and light oil while drilling at the Dzata-1 well on the Cape Three Points Block offshore Ghana with its partner Vanco Energy.
The company also drilled a second and third exploration well off Cote d’Ivoire.
